Useless Data? Part Keeps Track of Itself and Were It's Used

It would be kind of cool to see a data log inside an ipt of where it is used
and in what assemblies.

If it were done on a per part basis, expect to see a slowdown in
performance; also this data would become obsolete, irrelevent, and
inaccurate so fast it would make your head spin!

yes, and imagine a very common part (such as a fastener in a library). The part is read-only (part of a library), but every time you used it, you would be adding information to the file. You could imagine an extreme case where eventuallly your fastener becomes the largest file in your system without holding any extra geometric information.

So it would be an option. Use it on parts that are rarely used to keep up with when they are used. Don't use it on a pop rivet.
