Unable to open files

I have accidentally click "No" and "Do not show message again" at the start up.  Thereafter, I am not able to open any inventor files.  How do I get back the start up prompt?

Main options (Click the Inventor "I" on top-left, then options at the bottom) - Prompts tab and scroll through the list.  Check the Prompt column and change everything back to "Always".

Hope that helps, Sam

Hmm.

For many years now, the message shows up, that the file was NOT created by an educational version.

It's the same in German localization, too.

This message makes sense, at least in English.  Assuming that the software in use is an Education version, it is warning the user that the file being opened is not currently stamped with the Education version, but will be forever after, if it is saved.

I never see this message because I do not have an Education version of Inventor.  I see the opposite message: the file being opened is already stamped with the Education version and there's nothing you can do about it.

Confusion is growing, Sam.

I'm here with full Inventor versions, and I'm seeing this NOT created by an educational version message every time, when I open an educational file.

That's not, how it should be. NOT is no good at this place.

then contact your VAR to solve this, or whom ever you bought the software from.

Going by the message shown in your screenshot, your installation believes it is an educational version and anything you save will be stamped as such (which you do not want to use for commercial purposes but you may already know this).

Walter, here's the message I get when opening an Education file:

"Warning: This file was created by an Educational Version.

The document is marked with a permanent plot banner indicating it was

created in an Educational Version. If the document is saved in this version

of the software, the plot banner will still be visible.

Continue to open?"

Are you using the German version or the English?

I took a closer look, Sam.

It turns out being a long year's german localization problem. See screenshots.

Perhaps someone from ADesk is reading this, and can confirm.

I see!  Easy mistake to make, but definitely should have been caught, and corrected!
