Does anyone else have a problem with 7.1 taking a long time to
finish modeling a change after one is made to the model? I am
using
about 10-15 parts in weldments (using both types of welds) and am
finding that it takes anywhere from 30 seconds (good) to 5
minutes
for the system to respond. I will attached an assembly in CF
under the same subject.

Here's what I've tried.
Some improvement:
I've tried other parts and other assemblies. It seems to be
related to (mathematically) complex modeling (ie. - using Fillet
welds and 3D
emobosses on 3D curved surfs.

No Improvement:
I've tried using only the PC1066 RAM (.5Gb), the PC800 RAM (1Gb),
both types together (1.5Gb), changing the Swap file from 768kb
fixed size up to 3Gb fixed. I've updated the video driver and
dropped the optimization of IV down from Hardware to Software.

What's going on? What may be causing this?

Your help is greatly appreciated. TIA

Hi, Mark.

Not sure I'm getting all of it, but the emboss feature is really troubled. I
can't say I've used 'em enough to offer any help with the reason, but have put
a possible alternative in ivCF. You might try using it in your derived part,
weldment, etc. and see if there's a noticable improvement with the type
operations you've been using.
