Hi everyone,
While just working around and a beginner in surface modelling, I wonder what is the differnce in surface modelling done in Autodesk "AutoCAD" and that in "Inventor". Iam working over 2014 versions of these softwares.
Is knowing any one of these modelling package is quite suffecient for 3D modelling
Thanks
Surface modeling in Inventor is parametric.
In AutoCAD - it is not.
There are a bunch of (old) AutoCAD and Inventor surfacing tutorials in my signature.

a good understanding of surfacing theory is crucial to success no matter what software you choose.
Indeed.

Do what surfacing? You have not defined your problem. Do you have a url or image to something similar to your problem?

Expect to spend at least 6 months learning any software.
Although it might be possible to model a foot in Inventor

I would probably use some other software. Maybe Alias or Fusion 360.
