Slow IDW or what.....

I'm gonna pass away before this IDW updates. Not a big assembly by any
means, one hundred parts max, however this is the first and last time I
create Nylon tubing by 3D sketches by creating surface intersections, during
the time it has taken I have been out and picked up a part from a supplier,
made the boss a cigarette and had one myself, made a cup of tea, an hour
plus, twenty five minutes before I go home, will it get done?

Not a happy Scott 😕

What are the system spec? I have about 12 hoses created by 3D sketches from
surface intersections and all together I have 1300 parts in assembly. It
took me about 10 to 15 minutes for the IDW to update.... But it barely made
it because I only have 1 Gig of RAM.

Don't know what to say...Did you try it on one of your workstations if you
have one? Other than that, I can't be much of help here.

Sorry.

Uncheck the make view precise in the application options before loading
that particular IDW, then after it loads you can make views precise as
req'd. This will help load the IDW faster.

Nothing wierd about this assembly.

Having left my computer on all night, the drawing
views still aren't precise.  Task manager has been running aswell and
my computer is still running at 100% CPU usage, could've at least burnt
something out, then at least I'd have done something.

Have a picture, can generate those OK.

Can I expect this alot, I know the computer is not
top spec, the graphics card is a gaming card as opposed to a CAD card, I don't
have the sepcified amount of RAM for assembly modelling, however my little
computer has been working on making these views precise for the last 18 or
so hours and they still aren't precise.

I have FX1000 and it generates fine for my
assembly. (See IVCF under Final Assembly of Forklift) I think you probably need
to upgrade your card or otherwise you may never get it working. Is your boss
able to upgrade the card?

Every once in a while this just happens to me. I shut down IV, kill the backahl.exe process and start again and it works fine. Rebooting would do the same thing.
