Showing millimeters with fractions in Inventor?

Hi all,

I'm doing some preliminary part models that will be prototyped in China. Apparently the folks that will be doing the prototyping like their dimensions shown in millimeters, with fractions instead of decimals (can't say I know why...)

I've played around with Inventor 2011's drawing settings (Styles and Standards) and I see how to set Units to MMs but when I do that the Linear format options grey out.

These are pretty simple parts and I could manually override the dimensions but I'd like something scalable in case I end up with more parts or complex assemblies.

Anyone know of a way to do this or should I not even be barking up this tree?

Thanks guys and gals.

I'm gonna say that was something that got "lost in translation"

Maybe they meant dual dimensions.. millimeters and fractional inches

If they really meant millimeters with fractions instead of showing the decimals I'd RUN and find another sweatshop.

Ditto. Unless you want your prototype to be held together with duct tape...

Smiley Very Happy

Thanks guys, yeah I think I'm going to double-check with my English speaking client to see what they actually meant. mcgyvr's interpretation is what I would normally assume and (hopefully) that's what they're looking for as well...
