Showing Change Over in assy.

Seems like this should be easy enough to do but can't seem to pin it down.

I have a fixture that has two parts on it and has a change over. I will be using the same part in the assembly at two different locations. I would like to show in the drawing the change over from part to part.

I've tried representations but whatever constraints you put in one occur in all of them, unless there is a setting to turn that off so it is only in one. I don't want to use an IPN as I would have to tweak a many more parts.

What's the best way to go about this?

Any help appreciated.

~Matt

Hi MJuric2,

It sounds like you want to create a Positional Representation.

  1. First create the constraint(s) for postion one, then suppress that/those constraint(s).
  2. Then create the constraint(s) for postion two.
  3. Next create a Positional Representation,
  4. Then suppress the 2nd constraint(s).
  5. Then enable the 1st constraint(s).

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

Not sure how I missed that staring me in the face but that's exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
