Sheetmetal help

Hi I'm using autodesk inventor student edition 2012 and am having trouble accomplishing what I want to do. I have a model (It is a swept circle around a line) I cannot for the life of me get it to where I can create a flat pattern. I tried to split down the length then thicken, that didn't work. I just can't figure out how to accomplish this. Thanks in advance for your time. FYI The exact thing that I am trying to accomplish can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faHEoBeOdIA&feature=related

First the video was nice but it didn’t create manufacture able component. To create the elbow would surely use some of the techniques shown. But what is missing is that is a rolled component with a hem in the middle to close the ends and it would be dished to some degree. It would also have a hem at where the different sections come together.

If what you want is something similar to what was in the video I created a component similar but this one can be bended and also flattened.

Please remember Inventor as well as some other sheet metal software will be for bending. Rolling and stampings don’t bend the material like bend but deforms the material in a way that is difficult to calculate a correct flat pattern.
