Sheet metal bends

I know this may sound lazy but is there a way to have Inventor place the
bend up, or down, and the degrees on the flat pattern?

Yes, use the Fold command.

No, but that would be sweet.  I doesn't seem
like it would take much for inventor to be able to do this.  It has all of
the info.  Just need a button that workds kinda like the hole callout
icon.
