Shaft moment FEA

Hello,

I have run an FEA on a round shaft fixed at one end with a moment at the other. The results show the end of the shaft displaced in x and y. Any ideas why this happens? Shouldn't the displacement be a pure twist?

Not much to it but here it is. Thanks for looking at it.

I think somewhere in the documented limitations - this part aspect ratio is too large.  (too long compared to skinny profile)

Look at this example on Actual (animate) from right side.

I wondered if that was the problem. At least the resulting stress is close. Can you save your attachment as a 2012 version?

Thanks, Keith
