Serious Error: Undo File Size

Hi,

I have an assembly containing about 50 parts.  This is the only assembly affected by the problem.

Randomly when I add a new part or just reconstrain an existing part, I'll receive the Serious Error dialog box stating "The application has used up the maximum allowable disk space (1200 MB) devoted to undoing transactions. Unless the maximum size limit is increased, the current transaction will not be undoable!! Would you like to increase the maximum size of the Undo File?".

I've tried increasing the size and the message will still occur randomly.  I've also cleaned out the Windows Temp files and have run CC cleaner.

I normally work with assemblies much larger than this one without any problems.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Mike

Hi,

Usually that is not normal. I guess I have some questions......

1. What happens if you say "Yes" to the prompt about increasing undo file size?

    Does the problem go away?

2. Have you been doing a lot of undos and redos in your current session?

Can you shut down Inventor and re-start it to see if the problem goes away?

3. Can you try to migrate all the files using TaskScheduler prior to opening it in Inventor.

4. Do you have enough pagefile size?

5. Do you have Inventor Hardware Graphics Settings set to software graphics or something else? (this may not matter).

If none of these solve your issue, can you share your files with me? I can take a look at it to see if something is going wrong. I would need the model files, Inventor Version, Steps to reproduce.

If the files are very big, I can create an ftp site for you.

Please email me at: sundarsATautodeskDOTcom.

Thanks

Hi,

I have the same issue as MANNM. I already checked all the points that you mentioned before, but the issue is still there.

What do I have to do in order to resolve this?

Windows 7 Pro 64bits

HP Workstation 420

ATI Firepro V7900 2GB

16 GB RAM

Thank you,

Luis
