Every time I save it it insist on resaving
it. That must be it; maybe the reason Jeff didn't see it, might have been
because the iPart wasn't in the Library search path. Have you tried to use the
same iPart with it in some other directory than the Library path maybe, to see
if there could be some problem with the read-only deal?

I get it with my ipart save bug all of the
time.  It seems like it's still trying to save the ipart children (and
factory <grrr>) when the second save is issued.

You have iparts in this assy right?  You
aren't seeing the ask to save the factory error are you?

Put a file in CF; kind of big (3 MB), but
probably faster than having to roll-down the EOP in all the ipt files if
anyone wants to have a look.

This is an assembly that works okay but
if I save it after it's already been saved (...did I save this yet?)
it returns a file save error. Okay that out, pick close, the save
dialog comes up again and it saves okay then. ... Huh? ... The
individual subs didn't do that, only when I get the complete assembly
together does it start. The reason I know is because I rebuilt the
assembly to see if a new one would do it as well; yep it does. Are my
skates on backwards or something? Wonder if the same thing would happen
to someone else if anyone wants to give it a shot.

I did set it up in a library path, but before opening the assembly I dropped
instances of each spring into a dummy assembly to create the children, so that
might have been a factor. If you kill your library paths and re-path to them
as locals does it still complain?

If delete the springs or place them from an off-library path, the problem
goes away; can't
make it produce the save error or bring up the repetitive save dialog.
Something must be up with that read-only directory thingy.

Check CF again.  Ever see this
dialogue?

I think there is a problem with the read-only
nature of libraries.  This is part of the ipart save bug that I've been
griping about for some time.  Strange things is if I change Library to YES
it will actually save the factory (a library pathed part)

BTW if I change it to a non-library path it still
asks me to save the factory....

go figure....

BTW, I pulled the iPart spring from my off-path
iPart Modification directory, so it was the same iPart but it had never been in
the read-only library path since it was modified. The copy I saved to the
library path is the one that gives the problem.
