Check your display properties. Looks like it's in B&W make it True Color. Next,
check your video card properties.

As I can't see what the picture is your referring to. I can make an assumption and say get rid of service pack 4 and go back to 3. There are known bugs between Autodesk products and service pack 4. Not limited to Autodesk products, seems to common in other software as well. Another Microsoft bug to fix a bug.

Jay,

I haven't seen this in IV, but I have seen similar screens in Battlefield
1942 on my home box with a Ti 4800 (XP SP1)...haven't seen it in IV, but I
hardly run IV there as much as 1942. Maybe something with the card?

According to Autodesk's info, your video card has some "issues" when running
Inventor.
http://www.autodesk.com/us/inventor/graphic_cards/
Since the descrition that they give is vague, you may want to see if you
have the recommended driver installed
http://www.autodesk.com/us/inventor/graphic_cards/nvidia.htm#GeForceGEN
You will apparently still have some speed and feature issues, but maybe not
the mess that you have now.

Not sure what the "known" bugs are supposed to be, but I have been using
SP4 since it was released and have seen no added issues in IV operation.
If anything known graphics issues have lessened.

Incase anyone is interested, it was a bad video card.
When I opened the case the fan was stuck and HOT!.
I put another card in and it worked fine.
Just for your viewing pleasure, I attached a color pic that shows what it
looked liked for a day or so,
