STP files

Why is it that when I save a Part in V2012 into a stp file and try to open it in V2010 some parts are missing?

Are they missing when yoiu re-open in 2012?
Does this happen with every assembly or just one in particular?

Is this a new problem?
Have you rebooted the computer and the problem persist?
If it is a particular assembly - does it happen if you open just one of the problem ipt files and save as STEP?

If so, can yoiu attach the example file here?
So many questions.....

I assume you are taliking about the threads missing after you convert to .stp.

The thread in the .ipt file are  a bitmap applied to the surface to look like threads.

The thread are not actually in the model, so when you convert to .stp, all you will have is a hole.
