Replace options?

I wondered, is there a way of replacing and item directly from model tree istead of getting "browse" dialog and finding it as a saved part? Sometimes you want to use an item you already have in your assembly and there is no need to "browse" and look for it. It would be much quicker to go "replace" and pick the item from model tree. Just a curious  thought.

Hello Infoseeker,

Just to clarify your  request, you want to select a component from the Browser, or perhaps from the Graphic Screen, select Replace With, and then select an existing component from the Browser / Graphic Screen?

We cannot do this now, but it is a valid workflow request.

Thanks,
Bryan

Thats what I meant.

It seems logical to be able to do it. Its actually v. frustrating when you go Replace and then the only option you have is manually finding the file instead quickly picking it from Graphic Window or Model Browser.

This would be nice, but also include being able to select a part already open in another window or from the tree of an assembly open in another window.

And while you'e at it give place component the same functionality.

Should be possible programmatically, check the customization section.
