Repeated crashes trying to rotate/move component in assy

I'm getting repeatable crashes when I insert a component into an assembly
and then try to rotate or move it. The component is an .IPT.

Anyone else seeing this?

I wouldopen the part and jerk it around a little to make sure aht it is a good part. I have had some strange things happen once in a while. Waht I do is save the assembly and shut down completly. Restart and open the assembly and try again. thy bringing some other part in and se if taht will also cause a crash. Every once in a while I wil try to move or rotate by constraints some thing that is aready set, instead of the red cross I get a instant close of inventor and I am looking at my desktop. Just try to work around it.

Thanks,

Yes, I've discovered that it is just this one .IPT
that seems to be creating the problem (it was created fresh in IV6SP1).
I'll be doing some more experimenting with it to see just what feature (or
whatever) is causing the problem.  I tried a total rebuild of the part, and
received access violation error, power exits, etc...  If I get time, I
might upload to CF tomorrow and see what others find.  So far, I've seen
troubles rotating the part within an assembly, moving within an assembly,
constraining within an assembly, rebuilding the .ipt, saving the .ipt, opening
the .ipt, etc... I'll probably start deleting features to see what is offending
(I'm suspecting emboss of a custom truetype font).

Try this roll up the end of part to the first
feature and do a rebuild. Move down a feature, rebuild until you find the
culprit.

I'm still having trouble with this part - quite
often I'll get this message just before crash..."Error loading segment
PmBRepSegment in database\\PATH\FILENAME.IPT.

I tried the rebuild, rolling down one feature at a
time, and seems to sometimes make it through, and other times fails on the first
feature.  Seems intermittent.  I'll post to CF.  Please if
anybody has time, see if you repeat the problem, and have any more suggestions
for fixing.

Thanks, Keith
