Remove Yellow Sketch line when inserting an image - Autodesk Inventor

Hi All,

I have a basic problem but I can't seem to be able to get around it. I added an image to a sketch successfully but it cam with a yellow line around it (see attached) and I can't remove it. In the sketch properties I was able to change it's color to black to make less visible but it's still there.

Any clue as to how I can make it disappear ?

Thanks for your help.

Kev

Use Decal command to attach the image to your model.

How do you remove the yellow sketchboxes. I drew a rectangle and extruded backwards and now there is a yellow sketchbox around the face that I used to extrude on. How do I remove this?

Turn off the visibility of your sketch.

Attach your *.ipt file here if you can't figure it out.

Hello,
I had the same issue. Using the 'Decal' does work in some way, but not fully. It gives me other 'stray' lines, which I also do not want. Any ideas here? (Also, I cannot get rid of the yellow dot. Turning it invisible, also effects the png.)

Regards,
Robin

also, an image when the 'Decal' is used.

I'm not seeing the artifacts when using the image you provided...

afbeelding.png

Could be it's a graphical issue, maybe update videocard drivers?

If you are able to, maybe post the model with the decal so we can check if it shows the same for others.

I did my decal in IV2018, what version are you using?

Thanks for the fast reply!

I am using IV2017. Updating my drivers has no effect.
It seems I cannot upload my ipt. file here. If you give me a mail address I could WeTransfer it to you?

I have figured out that rendering the image does yield me the same result as you've shown in your image (so no additional lines). Do you also get the dotted lines when you place the png. with the 'Decal' function?

Regards,
Robin

@robinvandeneynde92, yes the dotted lines around the image in a sketch are normal within Inventor.

They help define the dimensions and orientation, it's also a good indicator for which images still need to be turned into decals.

If you meant after i turned the image into a decal, then no.

The image i posted is just a screenshot and not a render.

Perhaps it is my version then that causes the issue?

Message 14 of 14

I personally don't really think it is, looks more like either a hardware issue or some sort of corruption...

Some things you could try:

1. Change the hardware options in inventor. (application options - Quality, performance, etc.)
2. Apply your image as a decal to a fresh part

See if any of that makes a difference.
Oh and regarding the attachments, the forum has regressed into only allowing Inventor files when they are in a .zip.
