Reference Sub-Assembly

I have a cover on a machine that I want to show in an open and closed position on a idw. I placed the first sub in the assembly, made it adaptive, set an angle contraint on the piano hinge to 0 degrees (closed). Now I want to place that same sub (cover), make it reference, and change the constraint to 90 degrees to show it open. How can I have two different constraints for the same part? What can I do differently?

Alex,

If I'm not mistaken you currently have to do a
"File Save As Copy" on the sub and then bring in that new sub, apply
constraints, change the model to "reference". I have not done this in a while
but I think thats the method.

The way I do it is to make a sub of the door and half the hinge, and another sub of the
enclosure and the other half the hinge. The two subs can then be at any angle in
multiple instances without problems.
