Hi everybody,
I need some recommendations for books ("very" up-to-date) about mechanical drawings,
ESPECIALLY FOR British standards !!!
I have the opportunity to get a job in the UK, so I want to be familiar with all the latest news.
I am from Romania, here we work with ISO and there are differences...
I saw something on Amazon "Manual of Engineering Drawing: Technical Product Specification and Documentation to British and International Standards"-year 2009. I don't know how good it is... (?). Table of contents looks OK,
but 330 pages only? I want something elaborate, detailed, comprehensive...
Also, If anyone can provide some sample files ("UK drawings"), I would be grateful.
Does not matter if they are IDW or DWG file.
Thanks,

I have a 2nd edition copy of the book its good for beginers, but probably not what you are looking for. I would suggest investigating BS 8888. Which covers all aspects of "technical product specification"(!!!). If you have a good working knowedge of ISO drawing standards I would not worry too much, I know there are some subtle differences but most companies I have worked for have thier own cad standards "based" on BS,ISO, ANSI etc. Could be a good interview poly if you show interest in thier CAD standards.
Thanks for suggestions. By the way, how (where) can I find the BS8888?
On the google I found hust few references...
British standards are available through thier website, bit pricey though!!
