Hi All,
I have an assembly of 2 parts which I want to join by a radial pin using the design accelerator. On the dialogue box for the pin design it tells me to select a plane (I do this successfuly) but then I cannot select the existing hole (which I have in the parts), like it's not even recognizing it. The holes are the same size, same position, I don't know what might me wrong, any thoughts?
Attached are both parts, a propeller and a shaft,

It might be better to Circular Pattern that Prop blade rather than Mirror.
Did you use a Hole feature to create your "holes" (or did you Extrude-cut a circle)?

I used Extrude-cut. So I guess now the problem is self explanatory right... I have to use a hole feature...
Uhmm, what happens if you change those to Hole features? Give it a try!
You don't need to delete the circle sketches - simply select the centerpoint of the circle to place Hole feature.
Keep in mind, software cannot think or "see" the geometry.
When Inventor prompts you to select a specific feature (like Hole), that is the only thing it will recognize.

I did the hole but still it is not recognizing it, just the plane
In which part? Both of the two parts?
Holes (plural).
Attach your new assembly here.
I think you might have missed a step.
Right click on the Radial Pin node in browser and select Edit using Design Accelerator.
Then Click where it says Click to add a Pin.
And then of course, select a pin standard.
Student version is fully functional.
I didn't miss the step but what you showed proves me I don't have the contents needed, maybe in the installation of the program something went wrong. Below is what I get:
I am not interested in that screen.
Is that exactly what you see after clicking where Inventor prompts you to Click Here? You don't really make it clear that you have, in fact, clicked on Click to add a pin.
Check your system tray and make sure the CC window didn't come up behind Inventor.
Are you running two monitors?
Is this your machine (or school)?
Are you using Project file (*.ipj)?
I was clicking the wrong thing, but not this error appeared. This is the school's computer. From this error it shows that I don't have the required contents library installed right? In which case I just need to install it and that woud be it.
