RECOMEMDATIONS FOR BEST SYSTEM(PC) TO RUN INV. 7 PRO + FULL MECHSOFT

WE ARE SETTING UP A NEW CAD SYSTEM. AND HAVE HAD SOME ADVICE FROM RETAILERS/RESELLERS BUT WANT TO MAKE IT REASONABLY FUTURE PROOF. WE HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING A 3GHZ DUAL XEON WITH 2GB DDR RAM + WILDCAT 900 512MB GRAPHICS + 120GB HDD. ANY COMENTS ARE MOST WELCOME.

Not going to happen, especially with the emerging 64-bit technology.

Just build the "baddest" computer you can afford and ride it till the
technology overtakes it.

First of all, make sure Caps Lock is turned off. The machine should be fine, but I would question the use of a Wildcat 900 graphics
card. A Quadro4 980 or Quadro FX series card will be a much better idea.

I CANT HEAR WITH ALL THIS SCREAMING!!!!!!

My 900 XGL also has Dual DVI outputs, but only 256MD of Dual DDR. Are you
doing Viz/Max work also? If not I think the 512 is a bit of an overkill. You
could take the evtra money and get some more RAM - that will help more that
the extra 256 on the video card.
