R2008 Dialog Box - just a tiny issue

Why is there a larger gap between the shaded button than the gap between
hidden lines & hidden lines removed?

I believe it is a new feature.

You can have hidden lines shown, hidden lines removed, shaded with hidden lines shown and shaded with hidden lines removed.

Exactly correct.

Shaded Views are no longer mutually exclusive to Hidden Lines / Hidden Lines
Removed options, so we changed the button placement to reflect that new
relationship.

Hmmm never noticed that before....good to know

So why not just add another button with Hidden line Shaded? This button
layout just makes me think...who was drinking that day?

That dialog in particular has a lot of real-estate issues. We're trying to
stream-line controls, not add them.

I'm trying to initiate a Product Designer for a Week program here; I think
you'd be a good candidate 🙂

Real Estate problems? Looks like there is lots of room there for 1 more
button, especially if you move the shaded button back over to where it was

Do I get to criticize, and tell people what they have done wrong??

hmmmm....I am not sure I would be very fitting.

He may not simply mean "not enough room", but the entire layout and is it logical. They've made substantial changes to this dialog over the years and maybe they're thinking instead of band-aiding it over and over that it needs an entire revamping.

'we changed the button placement to reflect that new

Talk about your subtle visul cues! The interface is virtually identical to previous versions, and the new functionality has been obscured in the name of 'streamlining'.

Why take two buttons to toggle hiden lines on/off but use one button to toggle shading on/off? Consistency goes a long way!

Maybe shelve the Product Designer for a Week program and use that desk for a Human Factors intern 🙂
