Purge

I would like "Purge" to actually purge, and what I mean with that is remove
unused Drawing Resources in the IDW.

Anyone else?

When you release a drawing, nothing should be changed. In fact, when you
change the status property to Released, Inventor purges the IDW.

"When you release a drawing, nothing should be changed"

Maybe the way your company does things but that does not make it universal.

"In fact, when you change the status property to Released, Inventor purges
the IDW"

You mean you'd like to see this. Currently IV does not do this..

"When you release a drawing, nothing should be changed"

Maybe it's just my imperfections but what I do sometimes needs revisions which, of course, are changes to the released drawing.
On top of that a lot of released drawings (projects) I have are copied and then modified to create new drawings for a new project. I guess what I'm saying (along with Sean) is that once a released drawing not always a released drawing.

I don't really think it would make that big of a difference in Inventor one way or the
other, but if they did it I would hope they would make it like AutoCAD where you can pick
what gets purged and what doesn't.

ie "should" have "life"! Should never be "released" as in Purged.... ;ake
your life (not "life" as such) easier.... 🙂
