Hi,
Is there a way to convert a projected geometry lines/sketch to a standard sketch line?
I'm asking that, becasue in my current case, I'm projecting a more complicated sketch which I don't want to sketch on it and then do the extrude - I want to use the projection itself as the profile, even though I'm choosing the projected sketch it's saying it's not a closed contour (I checked and of course it is) - I think it's saying that becasue it's projected lines and not the real sketch line.
Thanks for anyone who can assist!
Can you post the part? Inventor allows you to use an entirely projected loop for an extrustion profile, so maybe something else is going one here.

Right click and select Break Link.
Inventor is much more picky about using projected geometry than SolidWorks.
It would be interesting to see your original file to see why it was not allowing you to use the projected geometry.
Hi guys.
I missed some small silhouette...
But still, is ok to combine standard sketch lines along with a projected ones to create an "extrudable" profile?
thanks!
Welcome to the forums!
You do realize you're responding to a post from 2011 right?
The original poster was using inventor 2012, so your problem might not be entirely the same.
As for turning projected geometry into normal lines in inventor 2016 (and some earlier versions):
You can "show all constraints" by hitting F8 (or the button indicated at the bottom of my image) and then selecting the projected geometry icon and hitting "delete" on your keyboard.
If you have problems making your part, i'd suggest making a new post explaining your problem and maybe attaching an example part showing your issue.
Hope this helps.
