Problems with Synergy II with INV R6 and W2K

Hi,

Sinds we got Inventor R6 (doesn't matter wich service pack) under W2K, we
got troubles with our graphics card (atleast that's what we think) We
installed different drivers and tried different settings in Inventor but
nothing seems to work. Sometimes the text is viewed as black blocks, an
other drives doesn't show the popups and another drivers is very slow (and I
really mean really very slow!).

Does someone has the same problems?
And if somebody works with Windows 2000 and has a Synergy II graphics card,
could you please check:
Which drivers you working with and the Bios version (I got version 3.01.00)

Thanx,
Richard

Richard i had this problem with my Elsa SynergyII with windows NT, but i have now upgraded to windows 2000 and the problem has gone? Also when u say a very long time are we talking 20 minutes? because i have been having those sort of down times as well. I have just had a look at my graphics card drivers etc and there is something strange going on. The other thing i found out is that Elsa were taken over by Nvidia and so i am running my synergyII on a Nvidia Riva TNT2 driver.

The problem came with W2K and in NT4.0 is was
working correctly.

We got problems with the Nvidia Riva TNT2 driver
from Nvidia. This is the driver that makes Inventor so slow. It takes about 10
sec to rebuild a screen. For example when you zoom in using the scrolwheel.
It makes a step, rebuild the screen (10 sec), then makes another step and
rebuild the screen (10sec.) ect., ect. until you zoomed in.

Could You tell me wich drivers You use? And what
the bios version is?

I used (all for W2K):

Nvidia detonater driver: 43.45

Elsa version: 5.12.10.242

Elsa version: 6.13.10.2832

And none of them where any good.

Thanx,

Richard

Oh and the BIOS version is 3.05

I think these cards are really starting to struggle with Inventor, and i am looking to upgrade soon, maybe you should consider the same richard?

This configurations runs fine here on Win 2k SP2,
although any GeForce4 card runs faster
and best would be a Quadro4:

Synergy II 32MB
Bios 3.05.00
ELSA Driver 5.13.01.1570
True Color (32Bit)
1280x1024
all OpenGL driver options unchecked

in IV Tools/Application Options/Hardware set to
Override recommended setting - use Conservative optimization
