Problem importing sketch to inventor 2013

Hi Guys,

I have a problem importing an autocad sketch to inventor 2013. I get no errors. It just flashes and nothing happens. The options button is grayed out.

Thanks

Is this a new problem (did it used to work)?

Have you installed all Service Packs and Updates?

Did you ever get your DWG True View problem fixed?

Did you install with UAC and anti-virus dissabled?

Can you attach the dwg file here?

Hi,

I have never tried in 2013 so this is the first time. I think that all service packs have been installed so it should be all up to date.

It doesn't work for any drawing file on the system. See attached.

Yes my true view works fine.

Can you verify that you are running DWG TrueView version 2013 (not 2014).

Jakub,

Are you trying to open the 2010 DWG or import it into a sketch?

I would think that you would want to import this into a sketch so that you can turn it into a part.

This will allow you to import DWG and DWF files into a sketch.

Can you please try this work flow and see it it works better for you.

Thank you.

Hi! When you imported the dwg file, did you see the following dialog? If yes, did you select the option as shown in the image? I have attached ipt file with the imported sketch for reference.

Thanks!

Hi Guys,

I am trying to import 2d dwg sketch into ipt inventor sketch using the autocad icon button. I don't get any options dialog. As soon as I click OK it just flashes and nothing happens.

Work flow: open new ipt file > save it > go to sketch mode > click on the acad icon > select the dwg file > click ok

I am downloading a 2014 true view just now so I will let you know if it worked.

OK, so here I am trying to install the true view 2015 as 2014 is no longer availible but there is a bug with mircosoft framework again it's asking me for 4.5 or higher version that I have just installed. It still doesn't like it.

I will need a new version of Autocad 2015 in order to sort the true view issue. I cannot dowload it and install a trial as it won't let me due to error in dowloading @ autodesk grrrrr.......

They have known about the true view bug for 2 years and still haven't sorted it!
