Hi, I tried and also saw yellow cells (seems mean invalid). "Update" and "Change Source" don't work to discard them. The only way is to open the Parameters table, right-click the row which indicates the excel file, chose "Delete Folder", then "Link" this excel again.

This is a known problem.
We are working on a hotfix for this.

Best worarounds are to
a) relink to the same spreadsheet
b) edit the start cell and pick the exact same cell.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I am doing a very large iPart now. After editing my excel spreadsheet and getting my changes made... In order to get them back to Inventor I have been first closing the file in Excel and then closing the Excel program. When exiting Excel it seems to apply my changes back to my Inventor table. It has been working for me...give it a try.

This hot fix does not fix the problem.  See the attached.  That spread sheet is used on multiple parts (obviously), and it used to work, now it doesn't.  all yellow boxes, except the first three.  I tried making it all one sheet and all kinds of stuff.

WINDOWS 7

INVENTOR SIMULATION 2011

EXCEL 2010

Please let me know your thoughts...

i should let everyone know that i just figured out a very effective work around for this, that automatically fixes it.  I saved Copy As my formula-heavy excel spread sheet as a different name.  then i overwrote the old one as the attached.  the attached are my parameters and values column pasted into a blank spread sheet as TEXT ONLY.  this seamed to clear things up.  Now, i edit the calculation (formula-heavy) spreadsheet, paste the resulting valvues into the attached as TEXT ONLY, and it works.  no need to "delete folder" or "rename parameters" or anything too combursome.

Now, i want to understand:  WHAT WENT WRONG??

the problem with these work arounds are that i now need to tell all the engineers in our company this process, and make sure everyone is on board...and i still question the stability of the spreadsheets.  which is a shame, because driving multiple parts with one sheet would be ideal for us.
