Something isn't right here.
Attach the dwg file here to see if others can reproduce the behavior.

I've had that happen and I THINK (I can't recall for sure) that unchecking the ALL checkbox was the trick. I may be wrong though.

Worked fine here.
What version of Inventor and AutoCAD do you have installed?

Does the problem persist after rebooting the computer?

I know I had this issue, and I tried several things, I just don't recall what worked.

Some things to try:

  • If running on Windows 7, close Inventor, and then restart it by rightclicking the shortcut and picking "run as administrator"
  • go to the tools tab and click the Add Ins button and make sure the DWG translator is loaded

no solution, but here is the same problem:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Inventor/importing-DWG-files-problem/m-p/2725569/highlight/tr...

also a couple of things to try here:

including just copying the geometry in AutoCAD and Pasting into Inventor.
