Positioning of points on a plane

Hi,

I need to accurately position a point on an angled plane, but the question is how?

I've generated the required planes, the axis to revolve the angled plane around, and of course, the angled plane itself. (See attacment)

I now need to position the point coincident to the generated axis/plane and the angled plane. I have nothing to refer to so I can't project any geometry from any face. (The vee-shaped recess is generated after the slot is extruded and its position is the resut of the breakout against the OD).

How can I do this???

Best Regards

I'm not really sure what you are trying to do here.

Can you post the part?

What version are you using?

I've made a simplified model showing the bare minimum elements.

I want to position a point (and a subsequent extrusion) on 'workplane 3'

this has to be inline with the 'workaxis 1' and the 'YZ plane'

I want the point to be 12.5mm from the end face.

I know you can snap the point to these intersections but it's not restrained in any way.

I'm using inventor simulation 2011

Hope this helps, if not let me know.

2 Revolves - 1 for the cylinder, and 1-cut for the hole.

Only 1 sketch - no workplanes - no work axis.

or worplane perpendicular to a sketched line.

Project the endpoint of the line to new sketch on workplane.

Hi,

Please accept my appologies for not replying to this question. Yes it works well doing it this way. I thought that I had come back on line to accept the solution, but quite obviously I didn't.

Many thanks for the responses.
