I would like to pattern a feature or sketch around another feature/sketch thats not a circle or rectangle but it would just follow the geometery. Is there a way to do this. I am using Inventor 2014. I have attached a drawing to better explain, thanks for the help.

Hi justinpcaris,
To add to mcgyvr and Cadmanto's replies, I think in order to get this to come out correctly, you will want to add a sketch point to the sketch you use for Direction1 selection, and then make sure to use that as your Start point selection. You might be able to select the extrusion corner to use for the start point also, depending upon your exact geometry.
Note too, I used Curve Length instead of Spacing, so use what is appropriate for you and don't let my example confuse matters on that selection.
I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis
