I am currently designing sideplates for a First Robotics Robot. (See for an example http://tinyurl.com/l86pdvs) and we are using the rectangular pattern to make a pattern of .5" holes. The problem we are facing is the sheer amount of holes that we have to extrude. (856 Holes). My question is there anyway to select a large amount of holes when extruding. In order to speed up the process instead of clicking each hole one by one, hoping that I don't click the background and have to start over. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Extrude the first hole, then pattern the extruded hole feature, instead of patterning in the sketch. See the attached part.

Extrude the hole first and then make rectangular patten.
Also, you can shift + click on an area you selected by mistake, and it'll deselect it
