Parting line

Hi everybody:
I'm nearly new in Inventor, and just do not find the same command "Parting
line" which I used to use in MDT.
Does it really exist in inventor?Otherwise how should all mold and die maker
define the part surfaces?
Thanks for any tips.

Split command allows you to establish your parting line such that you can add draft.

Thanks for your answer Tomas:
Split command needs a tool ;such as workplane,face,.. which doesn't exist.
It is reallay what I want to create to decide the faces of my mold.
In MDT6; I use the part line Command and I get a speline or polyline all
around the part, then I create surfaces to split the part.
The part lines are almost allways 3D spline in the models which I recive
from our customers.
How should I do this in Inventor now,If we decide to forget about the
MDT????

Place a sketch on a face that is perpendicular to your intended parting
line. Sketch the shape of the parting line. Finish sketch. Select Split
tool and then select the line you have sketched.

I'm going to venture a guess and say you won't be happy. IV currently will
not project a silhouette from a complex shape and I believe that it's the
tangent intersection of the silhouette edges extruded back to (or past) the
part that will be required to define the (3D) parting line.

I've seen a preview of "Inventor Mold" at
the EuroMold fair. I hope that will produce
good part split lines ... but we still have to
wait, maybe until summer this year.
