Open multiple files in ONE inventor instance

Hidy,

I just re-installed windows and all the fine (PITA!) trimmings. Now, when I open a file (any type) for Inventor thru windows explorer it opens a NEW instance of Inventor everytime! This is a HUGE system hog, waste of time ect ect.

How can I correct this to just open in the instance that is already there?

tks muchly!

This is not the correct way to open files with Inventor. Always open Inventor first, then make sure you are using the correct "Project File". Then use the File-Open dialogue within Inventor. This will also allow you to have multiple files opened within one instance of Inventor.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

It's probably a registry problem as you have just rebuilt OS but don't ask me where I haven't a clue.

Workaround is to drag and drop onto the Inventor window toolbar/ribbon/border can't remember which.

Don't drag into an assembly graphics area or you will insert into that assembly.
