I have an issue with opening assembly files as they always open as Master not Last Active.
Not really a big issue, just an annoyance.
Have I missed an option on another tab or something else?
64-Bit Inventor Professional 2012
Build 219, SP2
I don't know if this applies to you or not, but when you open and save a drawing with a partslist on it the assembly is automatically switched and saved to Master, so when you open the assembly later it will be in Master LOD.
I opened up my assembly this morning and it was opening in the correct Last active View state.
Mike might be shedding a bit of light onto my issue as I was working with drawings at the time of the assembly opening up in master view.
For your information, I have also recently upgraded from 2010 to 2012 and have 2013 installed to start using in a week or two when we migrate are database to Vault and Enovia. Thinking about when this issue started, it was around the time of upgrading Inventor so it could be the fact of using released parts (existing from our 2010 library of parts) along with brand new 2012 manufactured parts.
Thanks for your reply
As Mike has stated, the LOD view Rep changes to master when you save the drawing.
1. Open Assembly, save LOD view. Close Assembly.
2. Open Assembly, LOD is as Saved. Close Assembly.
3. Open Drawing, Save changes. Close Drawing.
4. Open Assembly LOD Changes to Master.
Not a real big issue to work around, just annoying if you have sub-assemblies with
LODs you need to keep changing.
I developed some iLogic code for my own use to help me with this. I use lots of iLogic "configurators" and this is a major problem with them. Please find "LOD sub.txt" attached. I call it as an external rule.
Edit: Ignore that first comment in the rule about editing the file. That's directed towards my co-workers.
In order to avoid the problem, please, try the following.
Please, find the steps in the video attached.
You need to apply these steps in the existing assemblies.
For the new ones, you can save the BOM settings in the template.
I’ll double-check with our Development if this behavior is “as designed” and let you know.
In the meantime, I hope you can find useful the suggestions above.
Please, let me know if you need any clarification about them.
Our Development is working for fixing this problem.
In the meantime, I hope my suggestions could be helpful.
