Novice to IParts

I have just discovered the wonderful world of IParts. Thank you CBliss! How do I go about designating part numbers etc for these? Here's an example: I download the hex head IPart from the website and save it in our company library folder. Let's say I want to add our company part number and standard description to a 1/4-20x1" screw. Our part number happens to be 2110408 and the description should be 1/4-20 NC HHCS in the bom. I assume I need to change some info in the spreadsheet but what would you recommend for a procedure.

Thanks

RMB Table (in the browser), select 'Edit Table'.

Under the 'Properties' tab in the 'Projects' folder you'll find 'Part
Number'. Double click it and it will be added to the table.

Close the dialog.

RMB Table and select 'Edit via Spreadsheet...' and you can add your
company part numbers.

Before you "Edit Table", you may want to go to the File>properties and add
some information in the description and the part number location. If you
don't do this, Inventor will warn you that some fields are empty. I don't
know if this causes problems futher down... probably doesn't. Just
something that I do before I edit the table.

Good point.

Also save frequently.
