I recently got a computer upgrade form Windows 2000 to Windows XP and much more graphics card. Our I-T guy came and install our Inventor 10 series software onto it and everything looked great till i wanted to insert some text into a drawing layout (idw). Will not do it at all now, and when i try to edit an existing drawing with text, it will lose it completely. Anybody know about a fix available for this? todtran28572
Inventor 10 was a long time ago. Seems like there was some issue with the text bn displayed. Do you have all the service packs installed?

Go to http://teknigroup.com/ and select the download section. From there page thought the avaiable downloads until u find "Inventor Release 10 Hotfix - Cannot Create Text in IDW - All R10 Versions". Thanks again for all this stuff Dennis!
Or just use the link already provided above corey's post
It told us we had the incorrect 10 version for that service pack. We need the service pack for the Inventor Series 10.0 version. Thanks
Service packs must be installed in the correct order.
If you try to install SP2 without installing SP1 first, or 3 without 2 etc., you will get the "Incorrect Version" error.
Looks like these guys have the service packs as autodesk has stopped supporting INV 10 and as such no longer provides the service packs. http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/download.asp?cat=7
Download at your own risk... And I'll take a wild guess and say install SP1, then 2, then 3 🙂
and I believe that hotfix will be included in one of those service packs.
And this time save those service packs so you can find them again. It is ALWAYS a good idea to save all service packs for all versions of Inventor you have on your server/computer should you ever need them.
as Corey Parks said about 23 hours ago,
"Go to http://teknigroup.com/ and select the download section"
