No option to export .ipt as .stl in student version

Hello,

I have been working on a project in autodestk inventor prefessional 2013 student version.

I can't export my files as .stl because the option simply is not there.  Not under save copy as, export, nothing.

Am I using a wrong version or something?

Thanks,

gsampel

The student version is fully functional.

I am using student license and I can save as stl filetype.

Show screen shot of your Add-ins.

Show screen shot of your File>Save Copy As filetypes.

Attach your *.sldprt file here.

no Add-ins (clicking the add-in button does nothing)

save copy as text attached.

I have .ipt's, not .sldprt's

There are four ipt's, im attaching the simplest one.

im installing a visual studio update right now.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 service pack 1 is what is currently on it.

The iProperties of your file indicate that you have not installed all (any) Inventor Service Packs.

I recommend that you set Windows UAC to lowest setting.

Reboot.

Do a Repair Install of Inventor.

Install the Inventor Service Packs.

Turn UAC back up.

Reboot.

Restart Inventor.

Wait, if I open the files in inventor fusion I can export as stl, is this acceptable?

also, the UAC thing did not work.

Just make sure your units are correct (click Options when saving).

stl it stl, source doesn't (shouldn't?) matter.

But I'll wager there are other things in your Inventor that are not working either (check Inventor Studio).

I don't have inventor studio.  Also, can you put a screenshot of the options when saving as stl, I can't find them...

If you have Inventor - you should have Inventor Studio.

Go to the Environments tab

Studio.PNG

Some of the other things in this image you won't have as I am running a later version.

Open a file before looking for Environments tab.

Without any files open - you don't have most of the Inventor Ribbon tabs.

Did you do the Repair Install?

Did you install the Inventor Service Packs?

You are running Inventor Professional - so you have a lot of functionality missing from your install.

Yes, I did.  I am thinking it may be a good idea to uninstall Inventor completley and get a fresh install.
