No Escape key to Cancel operation

<sigh> after all these years you'd think I'd know better . . .

I have an assembly with a half hour or so of unsaved work into it.

I downloaded an IGES model and initiated a Stitch Surfaces command.

15 minutes later . . . here I sit.

AUTODESK: PLEASE add Escape to Cancel current operation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just give up users... Autodesk has been asked for this functionality since day 1 I'm sure and its never been added to the program. The horse has been beaten dead/bloody on this one over and over again.

It's just disappointing to see them say that inserting a 2nd view directly into a sheet is a "feature". The rate of advancement is stalled it seems to me.

It's clear that they are running out of ideas for REAL features and are content to diddle with the interface, and incorporate macro level code into the base code and call it a "feature".

If we would all scream loud enough at this point, MAYBE, just maybe, it would be enough to get Autodesk off their duffs and make Escape command the #1 feature of Inventor 2014.

Any true techy knows that you save your work immediately.. you don't let changes float around in volatile memory.

Maybe I am just in the habit since I do alot of programming, but I save my work the moment I finish typing something..

If fact I try to save stuff that can't be saved all the time lol. I will probably hit Ctrl+S after I finish writing this message lol.

That maybe the reason why the dev team has not responded to this request.. it would require alot of extra work on their part when all it really requires is for everyone to be adament about saving their work.  Its the one of the top 5 un-written rules man.

Thanks for the advice but not good enough. Don't be a sympathizer - this is war.

It would be nice to see a cancel button. I'll agree with that.

This last release contains more features than you give it credit for. The last 2 releases have focused heavily on mold and tool. Probably not a big area of use for a lot of us in the US. But pretty important for other parts of the world *cough* Asia *cough*.
