New Style missing from Local Styles...yet appears in All Styles?

Hello,

We've created a new parts list style for a border.

When the border tempalt file is on the c: drive...everything works hunky dory...parts list, revision tables, etc.

But as soon as we copy and paste that border into the template library folder for new drgs...the parts list style is missing from the local styles?

So to make it appear on the new document...the style manager has to be set at all styles and the new parts list style has to be saved to the document?

What aren't we doing to make it appear on the template?

Also note that because the drawing border template is in a template folder as part of the design projects...it is NOT editable...so it has to be edited outside the template folder.

Any help?

regards

Gary

Have you saved your new styles to the sytle library?

Open the document that has the new styles and go to Manage tab, Save.

Use Style Library must be set to Read-Write in your project to do this.

Open the template you want the new style to be in and Update the styles.

Cheers John,

yep...we did that...

it's weird cos the border works properly outside of a Library folder...say, in a temp folder on the C: drive...

but as soon as we put it inside the working folder for the default borders, it doesn't want to work properly...

There must be something we need to do with the folder or maybe it's the folder's properties, or a project setting we need to tweak to make it work...

Anyone have any ideas or come across a similar problem?

regards

Gary

So your drawing templates are in a library folder?

Don't have our templates in a library folder.

Why don't you try setting up a project so the templates are not in the library to see if that's the problem?
