NX6 version of unigraphics

Is is possible to open NX6 version of unigraphics? I've tried but am getting an error, out of memory. Any ideas?
This is a fairly simple part, so I don't quite understand. Edited by: cknechel1 on Jul 10, 2009 8:26 AM

I concur, this produced the same problem on my machine as if it created an intantaneous memory leak in the software and my meter went to RED.

If did download a demo version of Transmagic. It worked great, however it would cost an additional $3000 to buy. I hope there will a fix in the near future to fix what ever the problem is in Inventor.

2010 supports NX-4, not NX-6 which is fairly new. Translators typically lag
one version back.

The latest version of Transmagic (v8) does support NX-6.

From what I can tell 2010 is supposed to support NX6. (See image)

Same here, I can see the problem but I've a little curious about how you created this file since it can be opened in IV2010 after saving again in NX6.

Could you please contact Jin.Pan@autodesk.com? Just for some more information.

I have exactly the same problem right now. Did anybody find a way to solve this?

Could you please send us a UG file to investigate? We need to confirm whether it is caused by the same reason or other reason. Thank you for your support very much. You could contact me via Jin.Pan@autodesk.com

Unfortunately I am not allowed to send you our customer files. But when I open the file from cknechel1, my machine responds the same as Mark_Flayler's (= Out of memory error).

Should I be able to open the file MBCS12059_2.prt without any problem? Or is this file "corrupt"?

Meanwhile I did recieve IGES files from our customer instead, but it did take quite some time to make them proper IPT.

BTW: I can see the part MBCS12059_2 in the preview window ..

Yes, here also can reproduce the hang issue when try to open the file MBCS12059_2.prt. But if re-save the file again in UG, the re-saved file can be opened in Inventor successfully.
We doubt it is a 'corrupt' file or there are some settings we don't know. However, we can't create such files.
Does Inventor hang with a very simply NX file provided by your customer? If yes, could you please ask your customer how to create? Thank you very much.

P.S: We will keep all customer file confidential and only for testing.
