Migrating Mechanical Desktop parts to Inventor

Hello,

We have been inserting MDT parts into Inventor assemblies for some time. We have gotten it to work, but in a brief summation, it STINKS. It seems that Autodesk has forgotten it's loyal MDT users.

Now, to the problem.

Lately we have run into problems of loosing the link of the proxy to the .dwg. We have determined that the .dwg file has been saved since the original creation of the proxy. We have proven that nothing has changed in the MDT, but the file was just saved. As soon as you save, you loose the link to the proxy.

My question is how do you fix this broken link and why does Inventor loose this link when the model has not changed.

Where are you storing the proxies within the project file?
