Meeting with "The Man"

I've recently been given an opportunity to discuss with a high level manager about switching from 2d to 3d. I need publications on reasons why, pros and cons.... Since I'm currently the only one using the software I don't have much to back up what I say and I need to know if others have been put in this same situation and how did you approach the situation?

There are some "white papers" on reasons to switch to 3D at the following
UGS site. You must register to get to them.

Don't know how much time you have to prepare, but here is a good book on PLM

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0071452303/sr=8-1/qid=1141651258/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-8721935-3366214?%5Fencoding=UTF8

In this book, the author states that 3D models are at the heart of a company's PLM strategy.
