Measure tool to line midpoint

How do I measure from, say, the center of a circle to the middle of a line
(edge). My mid osnap seems to be broke. It was working fine for 17 years.

Hasn't been broke that long in IV, I don't think; you must be using the
wrong program. If you were using IV you could try using center axis to
face/edge/point/whatever.

Now for the rest of the story. Are you in Inventor?

Hmm maybe I am using the wrong program. The graphics are just so seductive,
though. No, when I try to use the center axis it gives me a minimum distance
instead of x,y,z coords. Is there a way to do this in IV? I find I'm making
2 measurements, dividing by 2 and then subtracting the result from the other
measurement to get a distance to the midpoint. Highly counterproductive.
What do they have against midpoint and quadrant snaps anyway?

There are indeed some shortcomings in the measure tool but it isn't near as
limited as it used to be. Don't know what you are trying to measure, but
sometimes turning on sketches and measuring between sketch lines can get you
over a hump. I know the xyz coordinates are somewhere (I've seen them
somewhere at least) but I never use them, so I don't remember where they are
or if they would be relevant to what you are trying to do. Just thought,
could be it's related to precise input which I never use either.

Precise input is what you are talking about. Go to VIEW > TOOLBAR > INVENTOR
PRECISE INPUT
