I searched the forum, and found this was added as a wish list item in May 2007.
Does anyone know if its been added, because I cannot find it. Basically, very similar to ACAD text mask function. I need to find a workaround if possible, (I know I could use a breakout view, but that is a heavy alternative for a relatively simple overlay)
I haven't found this tool, it would be good to have!
Currently Inventor will automatically apply a text mask to leader annotations and Balloons etc The only work around I can suggest for sketch text would be to turn off the default hatch, project the profile into a sketch, add your text, add a border around your text and then add a new hatch using the border as an island.
I would be pleased to hear about any alternatives!
