Making a counter sink on a radius

I was wondering if anyone had a cleaner way to make the counter sink as I made it with the revolution on the included part. I did a little searching and didn't find too much. Apparently I'm not thinking too quickly this afternoon and this is one of the ways I could think of to make the countersink on the radius. I'm making the part so I can make the connection with a SHCS that is completly sunk below the OD of the collar. I'm on IV2015. Thanks for the help.

That feature would be called a Counterbore, not a Countersink.

Looks fine to me (other than the extra unconstrained geometry in the sketch that isn't needed).

I cleaned it up a little (see attached file).

Hi BKoomler,

Using a revolved feature is one solution, but it can be limiting in getting the hole note information on the drawing. My preferred method is to place the hole via workpoint and then use the Delete Face tool with the Heal option to clean up the geometry. There are several methods for doing this sort of thing at this link, so there might be one that works better for you:

Thanks for the reply JD. I guess I should have cleaned it up a little more before posting it, left over garbage from my indecisiveness and haste. And yes it's a Counterbore, my brain is a little fried today.  Thanks again.

I'm on 2014 so I can't look at the file so maybe I'm missing something.

Why can't you create a plane on the OD of the part then use the Hole command and just adjust the diameter of a countersink or depth of the counterbore as needed to compensate for the round surface?

Quick question on sketch 3. How did you get the dia. dimension in there, d30=0.322in ? I don't think I've seen that one before.

When you dimension select the centerline in the sketch, that will give you ø automatically.
