Loft + Dimension issue

I have a sketch of a circle that is concentric with a projected circle of an extrusion. The sketch is lofted to the extrusion.

If you dimension from the edge to the center of the smaller radius, you get .05, the larger radius give you .0502.

Please take a look at the .idw. The issue will make more sense.

Thanks

Depends on where you pick. Check your original IDW. Here's where I
picked to get .05

I think that is the issue...they are concentric and it shouldn't matter where you pick. The dimensions should BOTH BE .050

We have seen this on other lofts in the past...

Can you post your part? Those don't look concentric to me.

Thanks,

Ryan

I thought the original zip had the .ipt but it didn't. Very strange.

This isn't an issue of mine but my colleagues. He was in as much disbelief as I was and as you are now.
He double checked and I double checked. Please take a look.

I guess the .ipt gets stripped even inside the zip file??

Here is the .idw...the next post will be the .ipt.

Please ignore the previous .idw's.

This is the .ipt for the .idw in the previous post.

On a second look...

What is the purpose of Extrusion 2?

If I delete Extrusion 2, and turn both half circles into circles, the
error disappears.

In addition, the larger end will not measure as a circular edge in the part file, but you can place a center mark and a radius dimension on it in the drawing!
But a loft is difficult to control precisely without guide rails and transitions and conditions being set up. Question: why is this a loft instead of a revolve or perhaps a countersunk hole? Both of these would avoid the issue entirely.

A bit of misunderstanding....

You guys have seen the issue, and have found another:
"In addition, the larger end will not measure as a circular edge in the part file, but you can place a center mark and a radius dimension on it in the drawing! "

I know there are "work arounds"...
My point is why should there be a "work around" for this? Both features are concentric.

When I posted this issue, it was more to point out an error in the program...not so I could get advice on work arounds...

Thanks

I dont know why he used revolve, instead of extrude, or if you get rid of extrude..etc, etc...

As I mentioned earlier this is a collegues issue..we have a work around.

Thanks
