Linking Problems

Hello all,

A customer's customer sent me an ipt file. Looked as they the took an assemby and exported to an IPT. Therefore I couldnt manipulate anything properly, I could only cut parts away, not just supress or change dimensions as needed. They requested a new file and sent me one with less detail but still the same problem. This pic shows my issue. Shows a broken chain (link?), this is something I have never seen but assume it has something to do with a file dependancy missing?

Ask for the assembly and the parts tell them to use pack and go...

Not exported.  They started a new part file and then Derive Component the assembly into a single part and selected the Break Link option.  They know exactly what they did.  Apparently they do not want you to have the individual part files.

Thank you all for the comments/feedback. Appreciate it.

I have requested that they send me a working IPT or IAM (with or without all other components that they dont want me/need me to see).

Tks muchly! 🙂
