Is there a way to mirror this part?

I would like to work on 1/4 of this part then mirror it twice to make a complete part. I have tried to mirror it about 10 times and Inventor just locks up.

Is there a different way I should be splitting it? I am using Inventor 2013.

I was able to do the two mirrors in r2014.

Are you attempting to mirror by feature or by solid body?

Edit: locked up 2013 though.

So it is working for you on Inventor 2013. It's still locking up here. I guess I need to figure out how to contact Autodesk tech support.

Thanks for trying it guys.

Hi

I cannot see why 2013 hung, might be hardware, as it appears to have worked for others, when I did the first mirror, 2014 paused for a few seconds, the second mirror was instantanious. (Odd)

A work around for the moment could be to shell the entire part as shown in the screen dump. Select the lower face and the rear face for removal.

I suppressed the fillets one at a time and found that to be my problem. One of the fillets was creating a detached face when mirrored.

I rebuilt the part from the beginning and it is good now.
