Irregular pattern in a sphere.

Hi guys,

As i am still learing to use inventor, i am coming on this forum to save a bit of hours or tests.

I am trying to create a spheric container with a irregular pattern of different triangle as show in the example attached.

What would be the best way to creat this part? i was thinking of creating each triangle in a different .ipt and after assemble them all toghter. But this will take ages and a lot of ipt.

anyone has a better solution?

I think I would do that part in AutoCAD in the surface environment.

You might post this question over there.

Basically you can convert a sphere (or part of one, or any shape) to a mesh and using a technique of subdivision modeling pull vertices in or out (I assume this is art and not exact distances you need).

There might be some examples of the technique here http://au.autodesk.com
