Invetor file conversion

Is anyone aware of software that will automaticall convert Inventor files from an older version to a newer version?

Usually when you just open the file up in the new version that does the converting automatically.

How many versions are you behind?  From what version to what version are you talking about? 

Are there some specific items you are concerned about not converting?

Also, when you upgrade to a new version, it is a good idea to start with your templates, but simply calling them up in the new version and just saving them.

Hi!

You can´t convert to previous versions. You can export as step to open in previous releases, but you will loose the features browser.

You don´t need to convert to newer versions, just open the files in the new version and save them, autommatically they migrate to the new version. Also when you save them, is not possible to open back in the original version, where you create them.

As stated Inventor does that automatically when you open a file.. you will see an extra dialog about it "this files will be migrated.blah blah blah"

IF you are asking about "batch" converting them then "task scheduler" does that and is included with your inventor installation also. With that you can do whole directories at one time,etc.. as well as a few other cool batch tasks.
